Time is not on my side these days, I am stretched thin and there is not a spare moment. Unfortunately that means some of the things I used to do, now don’t happen. I used to make a lot of homemade treats and goodies for the kids. I made fun holiday themed snacks, their favorite baked goods, all the things. Now my day is way too broken up and I can’t spend hours in the kitchen, much as I would like to. This year I finally realized my kids don’t care if it is homemade or semi-homemade as long as it tastes good (and looks cute). For Halloween I made 3 super easy treats and the kids loved them.
Spider Web Brownies:
This was sooooo easy it’s almost embarrassing. I bought a brownie mix at the store ( you can sub for gluten free if you have allergies). I made them in a disposable pan so they were easy to take to an event. Using a frosting tube I drew a spider web and then added spider rings for decoration.
Mummy Cupcakes
These look way more complicated than they are. I made cupcakes using a mix (gluten free for us but whatever you want). I cut sour candy strips into 4 equal pieces (cut lengthwise and widthwise). Once the cupcakes cooled I frosted them and laid the strips in crisscross pattern on the cupcake. Finally I added candy eyes peeking out. These turned out so cute and really took minimal effort to construct!
Graveyard Brownies
These are the easiest route to go of them all. Make a box mix of brownies. Add candy bones once they have cooled. I let the kids help and they just kind of stuck them all over and it turned out cute. We found these bloody candy bones at Target in the Halloween section.
Happy Halloween to the busy mom who still wants to make easy fun treats for her kids!
