This month my husband and I celebrated 13 years of marriage. Over the years we have never done anything big to celebrate our anniversary, dinner out but nothing big. This year we decided to really give ourselves the time and space to celebrate us. We decided to do a mini staycation right here in Columbus, Ohio. We live in such a beautiful city and we rarely get downtown to enjoy it. Recently I attended a press event for Hotel LaVeque downtown, I took one look in the rooms and texted my husband that we needed to spend our anniversary at The LeVeque. The stunning interior of this hotel transports you. Instead of feeling like we were 20 minutes from our home we felt like we were in another city, enjoying the luxury that is Hotel LeVeque.
Just look at this room, I could have stayed forever! The decor and layout are perfect, talk about living the life, we thoroughly enjoyed our escape from reality as part of our staycation.
As part of our staycation we decided to valet park our car at Hotel LeVeque and walk to all of our meals, truly playing tourist. My husband picked all the meals and I must say we ate well on our staycation. Our first stop was dinner at Wolfs Ridge Brewing Company. We strolled on a glorious night through downtown Columbus to our dinner. The atmosphere at Wolf’s Ridge was fun and the food was amazing. I had the scallops and my husband had the almond crusted salmon.
Dinner was amazing, seriously you must try Wolf’s Ridge Brewing Company. They not only brew on site but have two different areas, front formal dining where we ate and the back more casual dining so you can enjoy delicious food at multiple price points. For breakfast we walked to another local joint Cravings Cafe. This sweet little cafe serves breakfast and lunch and it is really good. I had the most amazing avocado toast and my husband ate a classic breakfast of bacon, homefries and eggs. My husband has recently switched to a gluten free diet and was happily accommodated at both of these great restaurants!
We rounded out out anniversary staycation with more food! We stopped at Condado’s for lunch and it was delicious. We have fallen in love with this place and the many many combinations you can make for cheap (also gluten free friendly). Our little staycation helped us to see our city through new eyes and fall in love with Columbus all over again. If you are looking to stay in Columbus I highly recommend staying at Hotel LeVeque and try these 3 restaurants for some amazing food!
