My bedroom has finally become a sanctuary. Last night I put on a face mask, lit a candle and listened to ocean sounds in the dark in my bedroom. It was so incredibly peaceful that I fell asleep, thank goodness I had set a timer for the face mask! Last week I showed the first few steps in completely overhauling my master bedroom and now for the finishing touches, those little details that really make a room complete and give it character.
I knew I needed a dresser not just for the drawers but for the dresser top to put things on it. I wanted something small and with character just like this Cortona 3-drawer Demilune. Can you believe this is from Soft Surroundings? I never would have thought of them for furniture, but this piece is not only visually stunning it is sturdy, great drawer size and the top-drawer locks, perfect!
I put a few of my current reads on the dresser top along with some votive candles, an aloe plant and the Alexa Spot. I added this teal hurricane lamp with an LED candle for some height and to bring out the teal in the quilt. The chair was a great find at Home Goods that matches perfectly the rug I found at Soft Surroundings. The Alicante rug is the perfect mix of modern meets classic, it is timeless while making an eye-catching statement.
Our closet has never had doors on it, instead we opted for a curtain, it helps make the space feel bigger and is a great way to add more color and texture to the room. I found a great deal on these gray patterned curtains and they blend nicely with the room. My master bedroom has become my sanctuary and I am so happy about that. As a mom of 5 there are days I need a place of peace to retreat to and this is it. Did you know that Alexa will play ocean sounds for an hour straight when you ask for ocean sounds? Light a candle, turn off the light and relax to ocean sounds, I promise you will feel nice and relaxed snuggled under this beautiful quilt.
A big thank you to Soft Surroundings for providing pieces for my master bedroom makeover, all opinions are my own.
