I never really thought about what tech my kids needed, of course I knew what they wanted but we had not reached the age of research projects yet. My kids were not yet dependent on technology for things other than fun and entertainment and that was fine with me. This year I have a 6th grader and I find her needing the computer a lot, this is a whole new world for me. We had an old laptop that the kid used the few times they needed it but then it died. As we researched what to get it felt like so much has changed. As a blogger I am fairly up to date on technology especially when it comes to all things blog related, but wow have they come out with some cool new stuff.
I am starting to realize that it is in my kids best interest to not just hand down my old dinosaur computer and invest in something that will help them succeed. Much like the fact that many of our kids will never insert a key into a car ignition, many of our kids will never use a mouse it will all be touch screen. Going even further many of them will just speak and use things like Google Assist, its a crazy world!
While looking for a new computer I came across the Google Pixelbook, this thing is so cool I want it for me! One of my girls loves to draw and she would adore the Pixel Pen option. It also comes with Google Assistant built it ( I just keep thinking of that video of the Italian grandma saying ok googoo and it never works). The Google Pixelbook is lightweight, thin (at just 10.3mm) and portable which is great, we live a life on the go. The Google Pixelbook starts up in under ten seconds, stays fast, and has a fast-charging, all-day battery that gives you up to ten hours of go from a single charge!
Right now you can save $100 off the Google Pixelbook at Best Buy, but hurry the offers ends 4/7!
