Last week my preschoolers and I threw an impromptu Disney themed play date. All year long I have been meaning to have people over for a play date, not only to catch up with the moms but for my girls. I used to have weekly play dates when my older girls were little and then life got busy. It seems like I never have a day at home anymore and that means I am not hosting play dates. I kept thinking my schedule would slow down and I would have time. Then I realized I was running out of time. The older kids get out of school in less than a month so I needed to do a play date NOW.
Since this was probably going to be the only play date happening I wanted it to be extra special. I was sent some Disney themed party supplies so this seemed like the perfect time to use them. Since we had supplies I figured I would take it one step further and have themed snacks, kids just love that stuff. I am not a super crafty mom so I knew these needed to be simple and attainable with my busy schedule.
Easy Disney Mickey Mouse Themed Snacks:
Mickey Mouse Donuts: Buy 2 different sizes of chocolate donuts. Cut the smaller donut in half and glue in place with chocolate frosting, so easy!
Mickey Mouse fruit and chips: I used a large bowl and two small to arrange my fruit like a Mickey Mouse head (so easy) and I bought these cute Mickey Mouse head chips!
Decorate with Mickey Mouse Heads – I used a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter to trace Mickey Mouse heads on black construction paper. Then I stuck them on everything from our Softsoap hand soap to our Pop Secret popcorn and applesauce pouches.
Mickey Mouse Pants Juice Boxes – Wrap your juice boxes in red construction paper and add two buttons with a white crayon to make Mickey Mouse Pants.
Entertaining the kids was easy. The girls all came dressed up and enjoyed coloring and using the Mickey Mouse stickers. Then we all went outside and enjoyed a beautiful day swinging and playing in the sand box. I took a photo of every mom and her little one them printed them on HP Social Media Snapshot sticky paper. The moms absolutely loved having a photo of them and their kids that was also a sticker!
What a fun play date, my girls have been talking about it ever since and it really was so easy to make it extra special with a Disney theme!
