Today as I talked with a group of little girls about being grateful I was reminded of my own inadequacies in the gratitude department.
Am I truly grateful?
Do the people in my life know that I am grateful for them?
Much like saying I’m sorry gratitude needs to be expressed out loud, in words and in actions. We have to truly mean it and convey it to those around us.
As we approach a holiday based on thankfulness it occurred to me that this is the perfect time to express my gratitude for those around me. To thank them in tangible ways that they can hold on to and truly experience my gratitude.
People who are grateful tend to be happier and less stressed. I want to be happier, I want to be less stressed but most of all I want a heart full of gratitude.
They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit so I am forming a new habit of gratitude by spending the next 21 days in acts of gratitude both big and small.
My hope is that after 21 days of consciously choosing gratitude that it will become my natural inclination. Being grateful will be second nature and life will be fuller and richer because of it.
I hope you will join me on this gratitude adventure! I will be posting daily photos on Instagram using hashtag #GratitudePlan so be sure to follow me https://www.instagram.com/thatchicmom/
I will be doing recap posts every few days to explain exactly how I acted out my gratitude as well as some Facebook live videos.
I truly hope you will join me on this adventure because not only can we change our own lives but we can affect the lives of those around us in a positive way.
I am blessed to be surrounded by amazing people who deserve my gratitude and it is high time I express it to them.
