I am a member of the Pampers Baby Board, all opinions are my own.
When my friends and family are expecting their first baby I always know exactly what to get them. Sure, they have a registry and while I love to give people something they wish for, I also like to get them the things I have come to love and rely on as a mom. After 5 kids and more than 10 years of motherhood, I definitely have things and brands that I love. Many of these new mom essentials I did not discover until my second, third, fourth or even fifth child. So here is my list of new mom essentials, favorite baby items and everything I want when I have a baby. So whether you are making you baby registry or buying a gift here are the baby items I think you will love.
Let’s start with basics first:
Pampers Swaddlers and Pampers all the way until they potty train, just trust me on this one. No brand is better. With my 5th pregnancy, my sister-in-law threw me a diaper shower and it was the best gift ever. I was set with diapers for 3 months. Really, the ultimate go-to gift is Pampers diapers. Even a recent survey from Pampers confirmed it: 9 out of 10 moms wish they included more everyday needs like diapers on their lists!
Boudreaux’s Butt Paste another product that does it better. Keeping diaper rash at bay is vital for a happy baby so use Beaudreaux’s.
Johnson’s Baby head to toe wash is great for bath time, this truly works from head to toe.
Clothes, blankets and stuff:
Muslin swaddling blankets are light weight and perfect for all kinds of things from swaddling, use as a nursing cover, sun block and more.
Bamboo swaddling blankets are soft and perfect for swaddling I love a mix of bamboo and muslin.
Halo SleepSack Swaddler is the perfect swaddler for those of us who worry and then they can have hands out too when awake using as a wearable blanket. You can get them made of various materials for all times of the year.
Dr Brown’s Gia Nursing Pillow is my favorite nursing pillow, the design is brilliant and there are lots of cute removable covers.
Car seat cover from 7 AM Enfant to keep germs, cold and curious people away without compromising the safety of the car seat.
Boba 4G baby carrier can be used from birth and will be used until they are too big to carry (for me after 2).
Boba Wrap is my life saver from day one at home since my kids have reflux and this means I can strap them to me upright and everyone is happy.
Baby Carrier cover is needed if you babywear a lot and need to keep baby warm, the 7 AM Enfant one is my favorite.
There are a lot more items that people buy off of baby registries and use, but those are more particular to your living space and lifestyle. These baby items work for every mom and every baby, and personally I think they are the best. So if you are looking to create your own registry or buy a gift for a new mom, check out these fabulous baby items!
More than half (56%) of moms who created a registry felt it was more overwhelming than they expected. So with that in mind and a grant from Pampers, I set out for Babies ‘R Us to surprise a new mom who was creating her registry. I set out with no idea how this would play out but only the idea to find a pregnant woman wielding a registry gun. As I strolled through the store I spotted a pregnant woman with a registry gun looking at baby carriers. As an avid proponent of babywearing I started up a conversation and told her of my favorite baby carrier and then I offered to buy it for her. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. We soon got to talking about other baby gear and of course how amazing Pampers diapers are. This mom-to-be shared with me that the father had recently joined the Navy and that leaves things uncertain and scary for the future. As we continued talking she shared with me that a friend had told her how great Bob strollers are and was even offering her attachments to one. She confided it was on her registry but she knew it would not be purchased and was just hoping for gift cards that would help buy it. That’s when I knew I needed to get this stroller for her. I wanted her to have a quality, reliable stroller so that if her husband is deployed and she is parenting alone she will have this to remind her that people care. It was such a gratifying experience to help this couple and they were so truly grateful, I only wish I could have bought her everything in the store!
I also had the great joy of providing an abundance of Pampers diapers to an expecting mom I know and she was so very grateful. I know what the gift of many diapers can mean and am so glad I was able to give her this gift. Having a stockpile of Pampers diapers is something every mother can appreciate!
Thank you Pampers for helping these new mothers and babies and for being so exceptionally generous to these moms as they prepare for their new babies!
