When a company tells me they want to support new moms and tiny babies I jump right in with how can I help too?
Motherhood is near and dear to my heart, I mean I do have 5 kids, and as a mother myself and I know and appreciate the support needed especially when starting out on this journey for the first time.
There are far too many women having babies in less than ideal situations and they need our support. Johnson’s Baby sent me all the materials to assemble 20 kits to distribute locally to mothers in need right here in Columbus. As someone who is passionate about moms and babies I was able to give some to a local group who helps moms in distress but I was also able to give some to individuals who have a pulse on the community and knew a few women due any day who desperately needed these things. For my own selfish reasons I love knowing that there is a specific person in mind for each basket, it brings me joy to know that they are going where they are truly needed.
Johnson’s Baby partnered with Jennifer Hudson to help kick off this initiative and I had the pleasure of meeting her and being in a small audience as she was interviewed. I love her heart for giving back and her passion for children, it truly is inspiring the way she involves her son in charitable giving.
I invited over some girlfriends, made some delicious appetizers that I found on Pinterest like Crab Rangoon Dip and Wonton Chips and a super yummy Cranberry Orange Sangria. We laughed, we chatted and we packed kits. Everyone agreed this needs to happen more often, women getting together to make a difference and support each other is an important thing.
Thank you to Johnson’s Baby for making this happen and for truly caring about
mothers and babies everywhere!
