School is back in and that means I need to find quick and easy dinners that are still nutritious and delicious. With 5 kids my evenings can get really crazy but we make eating as a family a priority. To give you an idea of just how crazy it can be Monday, our busiest day, we have 4 dance classes and 2 soccer practices and did I mention my husband coaches one of the soccer teams? Hormel has come out with new ready-to-go-proteins Hormel Everyday Scratch and Hormel Hot Sandwich Meats, not only do these meats save you a bunch of time by being a ready-to-go protein but they are healthy, no preservatives and 0g Trans Fat. Simply put they give you a head start with your favorite recipes.
Recently I had Wonton Chicken Tacos at Applebee’s and they were amazing so I decided to try and recreate them. With the help of Hormel Everyday Scratch Flame Seared Chicken breast not only did I recreate them BUT I did it in record time since the chicken only needed to be reheated not cooked! The trickiest part of this dish is making the Wonton Taco Shells but they cam be made earlier in the day before chaos sets in so no need to rush, plus they are not that hard. This delicious recipe only takes 4 ingredients and is perfect for a meal or hearty appetizer, either way you will love it.
Wonton Chicken Tacos
- Hormel Everyday Scratch Flame Seared Chicken breast
- Wonton taco shells
- Asian coleslaw mix
- Asian sesame ginger and soy salad dressing
Heat your chicken up in a skillet or microwave per directions. Mix 1 1/2 cups slaw with 6 Tablespoons Asian sesame dressing. Fill your wonton taco with one scoop of slaw and one scoop of dressing. Serve and enjoy!
Yes these delicious wonton tacos are that quick and easy all thanks to the new Hormel Everyday Scratch Flame Seared Chicken breast. While at Kroger I also picked up the Hormel Hot Sandwich Meats Buffalo Chicken flavor. My husband packs his lunch every day and when there are no leftovers from dinner he ends up with bad lunches. Today he put a scoop of the Hormel Hot Sandwich Meats Buffalo Chicken in a microwave safe container and then packed a tortilla, some lettuce and cheese and at work he was able to assemble a hot and delicious buffalo chicken wrap. He loved the idea of a delicious hot wrap for lunch and I love that on days we have no leftovers he still gets a good lunch with a ready-to-go protein ( I had major wife guilt over him taking pb&j some days!)
I found the new Hormel Everyday Scratch and Hormel Hot Sandwich Meats in the refrigerated section at my local Kroger right near the deli meats and hot dogs. My store carried several varieties and I am looking forward to trying more out to create healthy quick and easy meals for my family.
