FabKids – Helping Me Create A Stylish Mini-Me

fabkids pink top

As you are well aware of by now I have a  deep love for FabKids, as do my girls. The classic FabKids dress silhouette is a favorite at our house and fits my girls like a dream. This month I decided to branch out a bit and try a new silhouette as well as a pant and top separates outfit. I have a confession, the reason I ordered the top and pant outfit was that I wish it came in my size, but since it doesn’t then at least one of my girls can have it. The FabKids Color Me Happy Outfit does just that, it makes you feel happy both looking at it and wearing it. The outfit consists of an adorable hot pink mixed media top with an exposed zipper in back, all of these details add up to a great top. Pair that top with some teal skinny pants and you have one bold, happy and colorful outfit!

Now let’s talk about the dress, this time we went with the Heart Shine Outfit from FabKids. I love that this dress has a fun drop waist, sparkly hearts and a contrasting pattern for the skirt. My daughter has been wearing this dress non-stop, it’s so cute and comfortable. You too can have this adorable dress from FabKids.

As you know I am a fan of Fabkids, they offer stylish children’s apparel each month for the low price of $29.95 for outfits and $16.95 for shoes. This is a subscription based service but you choose the items and you choose whether it comes or not. Recently FabKids made some great changes to the service that make me love it even more including the option to mix and match the outfit pieces creating the look that your child will love best. And your first outfit is just $15.

I am a FabKids ambassador, all opinions are my own.

What I Wore Real Mom Style: Dreaming of Spring #RealMomStyle

conversation pieces gold necklace

Recently my favorite online boutique posted a fabulous mixed media top that had me dreaming of spring and I just could not resist. The Spunky Pinstripe Sweater Shirt comes in navy blue and is a sweater in the front and a woven shirt in the back making it super fun and perfect for as the weather warms up. Navy is a favorite spring color of mine as it always makes me think nautical and sailing. Today my kids are home buried under snow but over the weekend we had a brief warm up so I got to wear my new sweater and pretend spring was almost here.

WHAT I WORE:

The necklace is such a fun and bold statement and looks fabulous with this shirt as well as so many others, I have worn it a ton and of course my obsession with distressed denim continues! Are you ready for spring? Any spring fashion pieces calling your name right now?

What I Wore Real Mom Style: Cobalt Puffy Vest #RealMomStyle

prana vest

I love vests, love, love, love vests and puffy vests are a favorite of mine. I have a black puffy vest I have had for about 12 years (and it still looks great) but I have been wanting to branch out into something a bit more fun and colorful. Every time I thought I knew what I wanted I hesitated to buy until I saw the Milly Vest from PrAna in blue twilight. This vest is a thing of beauty, the color is perfection and it is light weight so you don’t feel big and bulky while wearing it…. swoon!

From the moment I laid eyes on this vest I knew it would be perfect with my cable knit cream sweater, everyone needs a great cream sweater for winter, it is a wardrobe staple, and this vest just pops perfectly with it. This is my second time wearing this exact outfit, yesterday was warmer so I didn’t need a coat but before it was chilly and the vest fit perfectly under a coat when I went out and was a great outfit addition indoors.

WHAT I WORE:

Are you a fan of puffy vests? They are such a versatile and classy piece that every woman should own!

The Shoes Make the Outfit

laroenia shoes

When I am creating an outfit in my head I always start with one key piece as my inspiration and build my outfit around that piece. Shoes are a favorite focal point for outfits and my latest inspiration is the Laroenia from Call It Spring. This is what I call a statement shoe because it really makes a statement.

laroenia outfit inspiration

The moment I opened the box I knew these shoes needed to be worn with a skinny jean to properly show off all the gorgeous details! After some thinking I knew that camo would look super stylish and if I added an oversized wine colored sweater it would be perfect. Taking a cure from the gold detailing on the shoes and the zippers on the camo pants I picked some fun gold jewelry to round out the outfit. I am really excited about how the look came together and can not wait for the weather to thaw a bit so I can wear this out on a date with my husband.

I have a slight shoe obsession and if you do too head on over to Call It Spring where this gorgeous shoe and many others are on sale!

What I Wore Real Mom Style: Faux Fur Boot Socks #RealMomStyle

black fur boot cuffs

A few weeks ago I saw an outfit on Instagram with faux fur boot socks and I was smitten, I mean it is brilliant. You can instantly turn any pair of boots into a fur topped beauty… I LOVE IT! Well said faux fur boot socks were really expensive so I went on the hunt for a more affordable pair and then Jane.com had then for $6.99!!! Well they sold out of the brown and cream super fast but I did manage to snag a pair of black faux fur boot socks and they are a thing of beauty.

Yesterday they go their inaugural run when I wore them to church with fleece lined leggings and a sweater tunic, not only are they cute but they are really warm.

WHAT I WORE:

  • Sweater tunic from Kohl’s
  • Fleece lined leggings from Conversation Pieces
  • Faux Fur Boot Cuffs from Jane.com
  • Zuzanna boots from Born

Dressing the Mini Fashionista Like a Flapper

Sample was provided, all opinions are my own.
biscotti mack dress

She may be too young to read The Great Gatsby but that doesn’t mean she can’t look adorable in this Gatsby inspired dress from Biscotti.

This darling flapper style dress makes you want to dance the moment you slip it on, my little dancer could not stop swishing her hips to make the sequins move. The crushed velvet bodice and dropped waistline had me wishing I was 7 again just so I could wear this dress and dance with abandonment reveling in how the sparkles catch the light and the fringed netting skirt moves.

sequin skirt

Clothing should be fun and make you feel amazing and this dress does that for my little girl. She wore it to church last Sunday and I caught her swishing and swaying when she thought no one was looking just to see the skirt move. Makes me smile every time!

If you need a that special dress for your little princess look no further than Biscotti and Kate Mack.

What I Wore Real Mom Style: My Favorite Outfits from 2014 #RealMomStyle

First of all this is my 100th Real Mom Style post, how exciting is that!!! What I Wore Real Mom Style has been a labor of love for Andrea and I, we are both passionate about fashion and presenting a stylish face to the world because we love it! Our goal was to show that style does not need to take lots of effort nor does it need to be relegated to date night but it should be every day, all day and it should be easy.

To celebrate 100 posts and the start of a new year here are some of my favorite outfits from last year!

In January I partnered with Makerwear for a fun hat campaign and I am still in love with this fun outfit!

makerwear-bacon-hat

In February I found the deal of a lifetime on this gorgeous brocade pencil skirt that made my post-partum body feel fabulous (yay for stretchy waistbands)

kohls skirt

And then there is the Buffalo Plaid coat that I still get compliments on every time I wear it!

shopbop red plaid coat

And we can’t forget my mom uniform when I have a baby, here is a favorite baby friendly outfit!

And who doesn’t love a great snow leopard print cardigan… worn in the snow, in March no less!

2014 was definitely the year of the vest for me, I do love a great vest especially this green khaki vest.

And then there was the shirt dress which looks great with a jean jacket and ankle cowboy boots.

The Seraphine Maternity colorblock dress I wore for Easter was perfection in a dress, every nursing mom needs it!

In Spring of 2014 I stared adding more prints to my wardrobe like this blue and white floral top from Vera Wang’s line for Kohl’s

Even moms need to rock the white jeans in the summer, they just look so good!

In case you somehow missed my obsession with distressed denim (that continues) these are my favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans.

Wow it’s amazing to watch the styles come up and change and watch the baby pounds go, what a year it has been. This post is missing some of my very favorite outfits but if you follow me on Instagram you see those too, I can’t always have a talented husband close by to take pictures! This past year I also started designing tee shirts which is so much fun, right now you can grab an adorable Valentine’s Day tee but only until January 11th the it will no longer be available!

5 Fashion Resolutions Every Woman Should Make for 2015

5 fashion resolutions

A new year is here and it’s resolution time so while you are making all of those life altering resolutions to get fit and loose weight (no judging here fitness is on my list too) you should add a few fashion resolutions to your list.

Here are my Top 5 Fashion Resolutions Every Woman Should Make for 2015

1.Dress for Yourself – Don’t dress to please others but rather dress to please yourself.  Fashion should be fun and enjoyable not daunting or burdensome. Dress in ways that make the inner you show on the outside, if that concept is completely foreign to you then you need to look into Dressing Your Truth, it will change you life!

2. Discover Your Body Type – It is imperative that you know your body type so you can dress your body in the most flattering way possible. If you are unsure of your body type here is a guide to figuring out your body type.

3. Choose Your Trends Wisely – Not every trend is meant for every body type, before you embrace a trend make sure it is meant for your body type.

4. No Pajamas in Public – Please, please, please can we all commit to not wearing our pajamas out in public, that includes yoga pants. Shocked and appalled by my distaste for this then read my reason behind needing to dress for the day.

5. Try something new – This year commit to trying something new when it comes to fashion. Whether you try a new style or just put in more effort, commit to trying something new because guess what… you might like it!

What I Wore Real Mom Style: My New LOVE Tee #RealMomStyle

valentine's day tee

If you were one of the people who bought my “This is my dressy tee” thank you. I know I am in love with mine, it is super soft, a great fit and nice and long. The tee turned out so great I decided to create a Valentine’s Day tee and before you freak out that I am talking Valentine’s Day so early remember you order now but aren’t billed until January 11th. So don’t wait to order and miss out like lots of people did last time. You can order my Valentine’s Day tee here.

Here is a fun way to style the tee for Valentine’s Day. I have this skirt from Old Navy and I want that BB Dakota dante jacket from ShopBop (bonus it’s on sale). Add black tights and black ankle booties and you have a fabulous outfit.

Sparkle Into the New Year: The Perfect Sparkly New Years Eve Fashion

Sparkle into the New Year

When I think New Years Eve fashion I think SPARKLE! Sparkly shoes, sparkly skirts, sparkly tops, sequins, rhinestones, you name it. If it sparkles it has a place on New Years Eve. This year I have no place fancy to go so sadly I will not be sparkling, but if I did I would wear one of these gorgeous skirts with a pair of these shoes!

black rhinestone booties

Whether you choose silver, gold or bronze you can look classy and stunning in one of these skirts. And as for shoes pick silver, gold, bronze or white! I love the open toed black rhinestone booties (available in gold and navy too) and my favorite skirt is a tie between that gorgeous gold houndstooth and the high waisted gold skirt, love them both!

How about you do you have someplace fancy to go New Years Eve?

Will you be sparkling head to toe?

Fabkids December Fashion for Girls

fabkids sisters

It’s a new month and that means new fashion at Fabkids. I have been featuring Fabkids fashion for months now and have yet to be disappointed, they offer stylish dresses that fit little girls perfectly and the skirts and shirts are fun and fit great too and you can’t beat the price for cute fashion delivered to your door!

fabkids jewel dress

Our most recent Fabkids clothing finds are some of my favorite. The jewel dress is fun and whimsical yet is that classic FabKids dress fit that I love and the fabric can take anything my girls dish out, no thin fragile dress here folks! My daughter LOVES her jewel dress and wears it all the time, plus it came with matching leggings, you know matching leggings are the way to my heart! She is wearing the Teal Gem outfit.

fabkids skirt

My 3 year old is wearing the cutest skirt and top combination, it’s girly, feminine and fun… all the things a little girl wants in her clothing. She is wearing the FabKids Enchanted Skirt outfit.

As you know I am a fan of Fabkids, they offer stylish children’s apparel each month for the low price of $29.95.

Comfy Winter Outfits from Lee

When I think of Lee I think of classic jeans especially skinny jeans, my favorite skinny jeans come from Lee. This month I decided to try out some Lee pants and straight leg jeans to see what other fits and styles Lee has to offer. So here we  some comfy casual looks all with Lee jeans and pants.

lee black pant

Lee Natural fit pull-on kate skinny pant

This slimming black pant is perfect for a casual dress pant and the pull on detail means you get a seamless waist band with no extra bulk or bump. I styled these pants with a red turtleneck sweater, faux fur vest, leopard heels and long necklace. I love how slimming and comfortable these pants are and they are perfect for the life of moms since they are made of cotton making them easy to care for.

lee jeans red shoes

Lee Platinum label comfort fit lynn straight leg jean

This straight leg jean is perfect for everyday. The back pocket flaps are very flattering and the stretch allows for comfort and a great fit. Add into that a secret waistband to help smooth you out and these will become an everyday staple. I paired these jeans with a simple cotton sweater, plaid scarf and festive red flats making it comfortable, practical and fun for the holidays.

lee jeans gray

Lee Perfect fit brinkley straight leg jean in platinum

Gray jeans are really trendy right now and these are just gorgeous. I love that these jeans look a bit dressier and can easily transition from day to night with a few simple changes in your outfit. The straight leg makes them great for with heels and they are really flattering on. For this look I added some black booties, a leopard baseball tee, black and white plaid scarf and faux fur vest.

So what do you think about these different styles of Lee jeans and Lee pants that I tried?

Would you wear gray jeans?

Or how about black pull on dress pants?

Product was provided for feature, all opinions are my own.

What I Wore Real Mom Style: Fairisle Sweater Dress #RealMomStyle

sweater dress plaid scarf

Well Christmas season is in full swing at our house and oh my have we been busy! This past weekend I hardly had a moment to take a breath and our Sunday was especially busy. We started the day with 8 am mass then i went to the grocery store because I literally have had not had another moment to go. Then at noon my kids joined classmates to sing on the radio in support of a local charity. Then at 1:130 my husband and played live on the same radio station again for charity. PHEW.

nativity

Well after that the big girls and I went downtown Columbus to see the life sized nativity, it really is a beautiful display that chronicles the story of Jesus from the angel Gabriel visiting Mary to the birth of Christ. After that we went my parents house ot help them decorate their tree. Yes it was a long and exhausting but fun day. So here is what I wore for the first half of the day then I made an outfit change for the outdoor stuff. My DSLR was acting up (thankfully not broken) so excuse the bad phone photos.
