Love Your Feet this Spring with Naturalizer Shoes

naturalizer draft black

I LOVE shoes, I mean love, love, love.

Confession time: I have to switch out my shoes twice a year because I have so many for each season they can not all be in my closet at once.

Ok now that you know my vice let’s talk shoes! Open toed boots are super trendy right now and I am loving them. Now that I am getting ahem older I am much pickier about what brands I wear and my heel height. I used to be able to wear anything and everything but not any more. Naturalizer is a brand I know I can trust for comfort and quality and they are getting trendier every year.

naturalizer draft shoes

My current love is the Naturalizer Draft this hybrid of an open toed boot and sandal is perfection I have worn them with a dress, with pants and with leggings, they are fabulous with leggings!

Aren’t these fabulous? They are super comfortable too and you NEED a pair to complete your spring wardrobe and great news these are on sale right now! And if your wardrobe is missing a brown pair well they come in that color too!

Mint Julep Boutique Giveaway

mint julep top blue

I love discovering new online boutiques full of cute affordable fashion for me to want and love. My most recent discovery is The Mint Julep Boutique. This adorable online boutique has women’s fashion, curvy girl fashion and even maternity fashion… where was this place during all my pregnancies?!?!

After browsing all the adorable pieces at The Mint Julep over and over I finally settled on the Know What’s Best Blouse in Royal Blue. I love breezy, flowy blouses for the warmer months as they look so classy yet still keep you cool as the temperatures rise. This bright royal blue is a very on trend color and a must have your spring wardrobe. On the site they showed it with white jeans which I totally plan to replicate as soon as I find a pair I love but for now I am wearing mine a bit more casual with some boyfriends jeans, a cute whale scarf and my favorite gold espadrille flats!

mint julep jacket

I kind of sorta have a jacket obsession especially light weight ones like this Zip Me Up Jacket in Peach. The temperatures are all over the place right now and a jacket is definitely needed in the morning and the evening and sometimes all day. I love the bold color and the fun asymmetrical zipper and oversized collar on this particular jacket. The soft stretchy material gives it a fitted shape making it very flattering as well as comfy, I will be living in this for spring!

Are you drooling yet for some cute new fashion from Mint Julep? Be sure to checkout what Andrea is styling over on Momma in Flip Flops then come back here and enter to win a $25 GC to Mint Julep!

Head to Toe Spring Fashion from Lands’ End

lands end rose trench coat

Spring means, dresses and trench coats and of course florals and Lands’ End has all of those and much much more!

As the weather gets warmer the rain also comes so every wardrobe needs the perfect spring trench coat. While you could go with a neutral color I prefer to make a bold statement with my coats and the Lands’ End Women’s Harbor Crop Trench Coat is perfection in this rose poppy color. The weight is perfect for a crisp spring day and the black buttons and belt add shape and contrast, all the things you need to have a flattering coat.

Spring is the time of baby showers, wedding showers, weddings, graduations, First Communions and the list goes on and all of these things need a great dress that you can wear many ways. The Lands’ End Fit and flare Dress is a classic that should be in every woman’s closet. This dress looks great alone or add great accessories and shoes and you can wear it to almost any event. I chose the color coastal cobalt this year as this bright cobalt blue is on trend and one of my favorite colors, it looks great against my new trench or alone and the cotton rayon blend that is machine washable makes this mom very, very happy!

lands end blue dress summer

I tried my first pair of heels from Lands’ End last year and have been hooked ever since, they have great on trend heels that are comfortable.… who knew? Florals are always trendy for spring but I am not a big flower person so I prefer to have great floral accessories like these Lands’ End Women’s Randi Mid Heel Pump they are just the right amount of height without being too much and the floral pattern in blues goes perfectly with my dress! And to finish off my outfit I added this chunky silver necklace from Lands’ End, yes they even have jewelry and the Lands’ End Women’s Link Statement Necklace is a timeless piece you will get a lot of wear out of and bonus it is chunky and big but not heavy!

Adorable Kid’s Shoes for Spring from Umi Plus Giveaway

waterFriendly_img_headline

Once agian UMI has an adorable collection of footwear for kids this spring from sandals and dress shoes to everyday sneakers made for outdoor fun. Recently they even introduced a waterproof line, you have no idea how much this excites me! UMI is one of the few brands that all of my girls can still wear and each summer I get them all a pair of waterproof shoes that they can wear for backyard water fun as well as camping, these shoes are the most worn all summer long so they need to be well made and supportive for my kids growing feet. The new line is called Umi Splash and you NEED these for your kids!

umi spring girls shoes

My littlest fashionista hit a growth spurt and outgrew her favorite Umi shoes so I needed a new pair of everyday shoes for spring, we are not quite ready for sandals yet but I wanted something cute and springy as she will be wearing them well into summer. I chose the Cassi in silver and pink because of the cute classic mary jane styling with the fun sliver and pink brightness to go with spring. While I awaited the arrival of these shoes I made the mistake of pulling out an old pair of shoes from my first daughter. These shoes were a generic brand and hardly worn, my poor baby girl tripped all over in the super stiff sole and I was reminded of how much I have learned as a parent. I had no idea how important a soft flexible sole was for early walkers thank goodness I discovered Umi years ago!

umi pink and silver shoes

How cute does she look in her new shoes? And she is so happy to not be tripping and falling but just enjoying life as an inquisitive toddler!

Be sure to head over to Momma in FlipFlops to see what her kids are wearing from Umi and then enter my giveaway for a $60 GC to Umi Children’s Shoes!

Creating a Spring Wardrobe That Is Just My Style with J.Jill

jjill crochet pink sweater close up

Sometimes I find it hard to change my perception of a brand, for example I still think certain brands are for people who are older than me (because I apparently stopped aging at 24 LOL). I still remember when I was pregnant with my first daughter and my aunt sent me a box of clothes that were a size or two up for me to wear post-partum and in them was a top from J.Jill. I almost didn’t try it on as I was sure it would not be my style, to my surprise and delight I ended up loving it.

jjill pink crochet sweater

Recently J.Jill sent me a few pieces to style and I have to say I wanted almost all of the catalogue, it was really hard to pick just a few items. I have never been an off the rack dresser, it is rare for me to wear an outfit exactly as a brand suggests so I picked some great pieces and began coming up with ways to style them. One piece that I kept coming back to was this marled open-stitch pullover with matching tank underneath. Initially I envisioned it with a  great pair of white distressed jeans, I am still on the hunt for the perfect pair, so that vision has yet to come true. Instead I went with an old favorite these distressed boyfriend jeans, they look good with everything.

JJill crochet sweater

Over the weekend we hosted Easter at our house and by the time it was egg hunt time I was ready to be out of my heels and dress but I still wanted to look good. I opted to wear my new J.Jill pullover with my distressed boyfriend jeans, gold flats and some layered gold jewelry. I really love how the look turned out it was just my style and worked perfect for being a hostess and chasing kids during an Easter egg hunt!

This pullover from J.Jill is the perfect edition to my spring wardrobe with it’s feminine rose color, breezy open weave and elegant style and I already have 2 ways to wear it, now I just need one more. I think the third look will be with my olive colored boyfriend chinos from J.Jill I got last year as rose and olive are a great combination. Every item you buy should be able to be worn 3 ways in order for it to be a smart investment and good addition to your wardrobe!

Do you use the rule of 3 when you make purchases?

Andrea is showing how to style the adorable J.Jill live-in chino tab-sleeve dress over on Momma in FlipFlops so be sure to check out how she is wearing it this spring!

1 Piece Styled 3 Ways – Monochromatic Fashion

black jumpsuit

I am a sucker for a great monochromatic outfit especially all black. When you wear one color it is incredibly slimming, especially black and since my weight has gone up and down over the years having 5 kids all black has become my best friend. During a recent trip to Target i was feeling brave and tried on a black jumpsuit, I have been wanting one as I think they are so chic and stylish but between breastfeeding and lack of confidence I never got one. Well now I am the proud owner of a sleeveless jumpsuit and I love it, check out how I styled it!

target black jumpsuit

I kept things simple and added some fun gold jewelry and these super cute leopard heels.

I am really excited about this new fashion series, I have teamed up with Kristin of BonBon Rose Girls and Andrea of Momma in Flip Flops to bring you 3 different takes on the same classic piece. That means you will be able to follow the sage old fashion advice that every item in your closet should be able to be worn 3 ways! This week we are tackling the fashion stylings of monochromatic outfits so be sure to see how each bring monochromatic looks into our wardrobe.

10 Ways to Wear Florals This Spring

Florals Collage

Florals are always a big trend every single spring, they just keep coming back every year both the classics and new versions. As I have shared before I do not have any great love for florals so if I find a floral piece I like, well wow. Last year on a whim I tried out this floral cardigan from a favorite online boutique of mine Conversation Pieces. After I ordered it I immediately had buyers remorse, I mean it was way too granny floral for me. I am so glad I took a chance because I ended up loving this cardigan, it is a fun change for me from my normal solid cardigans and it challenged me in a good way. So here is how I styled a granny floral cardigan in a not so granny way, the key is to add some fun and funky pieces like these gold oxfords!

So how do you wear florals? Are you a flowers all over or just in a few select pieces?

The sun is shining the windows are open and we are finally shedding layers so we can actually see all the great clothes everyone is wearing and they are not hidden under scarves and bulky coats. FabKids once again has a fabulous line up for spring including this adorable take on a funky zebra print. My marches to the beat of her own drum daughter is obsessed with this outfit. she it a texture person and when you add this fun print to a silky flowy fabric you have outfit magic! of course it came with the ever present FabKids leggings which we just love, my active girls need leggings so they don’t have to compromise great fun due to fashion.
